Massage and Bodywork
Hawaii Horse Massage LLC provides massage and bodywork services to humans and horses. Our massage therapists are fully trained professionals, with appropriate licenses or certifications and training for the modalities that they perform. Massage is a therapeutic activity, and is not intended to treat any medical condition. Massage is not a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, and care by a medical doctor (for humans), or veterinarian (for horses). Any individual who books services for themself or their horse acknowledges the hands-on nature of massage and bodywork treatment, and voluntarily and willingly assumes any risks associated with this treatment.
Horse Policy
All horses are required to receive regular veterinary and farrier care in order to receive bodywork from Hawaii Horse Massage, including all required vaccinations and hoof care from a professional farrier on a regular basis. If your horse does not meet these requirements, please contact us and we will be happy to refer you to another bodywork provider.
The horse owner or a designated handler must be present for the entirety of the horse’s first session. The horse must be caught and groomed before the session. The horse must be tied or held by a handler for the duration of the session. The workspace must have level ground (stalls with deep, uneven bedding are not considered level ground) and be separate from other horses (i.e. not in the pasture with the rest of the herd loose).
Age Policy (for Human Clients)
Hawaii Horse Massage LLC accepts appointment reservations for any client ages 13 and up. For clients ages 13-15, a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult must be present for the entire duration of the session. For clients ages 16-17, a parent or legal guardian may choose, with the agreement of the minor client, to allow the client to receive their service without the presence of an adult.
